FSSAI calls for control of chemical contamination in agricultural raw materials

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has highlighted the need to control chemical contamination in agricultural raw materials to support the food industry. Inoshi Sharma, FSSAI's executive director, noted the challenges in enforcing Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) in crops, fruits, and spices. She emphasised the importance of regular audits and rejecting non-compliant produce at the farm level.
