Java Paper Group has introduced an all-brown, virgin fibre unbleached folding box board (FBB) to address the growing demand for natural-finish packaging in India. Launched in 2026, the product is designed for the cosmetic, FMCG, and food service industries, offering a standardised alternative to the imported stock lot kraftliners currently used in these segments.
The technical USP of the board is its high bulk paired with a consistent, aesthetically uniform brown shade. Unlike recycled kraft alternatives, this board is made from virgin fibre, ensuring it is odour-free and food-grade certified.
This makes it suitable for direct food contact applications, including takeaway packaging and confectionery boxes. For specific use cases like sandwiches or mithai, the board can be enhanced with barrier coatings to resist moisture and grease.
From a production stand-point, the board is engineered for high-fidelity print results in both offset and digital formats. Its FBB properties allow for better structural stiffness and folding characteristics than standard brown papers. In terms of sustainability, the virgin fibre composition ensures the board is fully recyclable, serving as high-quality raw material for the circular economy.
Java Paper Group’s move into unbleached FBB is a response to the shifting market trend toward an earthy brand identity.
