Romeo and Juliet: The Packaging Version

Reimagining Romeo and Juliet

04 Sep 2025 | By Ramu Ramanathan

The scene opens on a balcony bathed in the pale, metallic purple glow of the moon. JULIET stands, her posture radiating an ethereal luminescence. Below, ROMEO is a hushed silhouette against the ancient stone.

ROMEO: (Whispering, his voice a tender breeze carrying the scent of night-blooming resins) Juliet, my love, my recyclable PET and RPET heart beats only for you.

JULIET: (Her eyes, like twin stars, meet his. Her voice is a melody.) Romeo, you are the Pet Bottle to my life, the essential ingredient that makes everything worthwhile. Without you, my world is as empty as a non-recyclable shrink sleeve PET G to a recyclable BOPP Label.

ROMEO climbs the balcony with fluid movements, his gaze never leaving hers. He reaches for her hand, his touch sending shivers through her.

ROMEO: (Murmuring) We bound together, strong and true, a Laminatemonopolymer Polyethylenerecyclable material meant to endure.

They stand together, their hands clasped.

JULIET: Our love, Romeo, is a future built on trust and passion, a future where our hearts, once separate, will become one, a testament to the power of FSSAI-inspired devotion.

ROMEO: A love that can be recycled, my Juliet, embracing a love that is like a PET/PEPE/PE laminate, a love that will be sustainable and evergreen for all time.

As the first hint of dawn paints the sky, they seal their vows with a kiss on their necks, resembling a pre-formed neck profile.

ROMEO & JULIET: (In unison, their voices filled with hope) May We Be a PCR Couple for the Rest of Our Lives.

Fade to black.
