The formation of JDC and Digiflex marks a milestone in the Indian printing and packaging landscape

The Indian printing and packaging industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by a growing demand for high-quality, efficient, and sustainable solutions. In a move poised to accelerate this evolution, Hyderabad-based Digiflex, a specialist in digital flexo plate manufacturing, has forged a strategic partnership with JDC Graphics, a market leader in Sri Lanka's printing and packaging industry.

The plan: bridging expertise, better outreach

The collaboration between Digiflex and JDC Graphics is built on a shared vision of bringing advanced flexographic technology and comprehensive solutions to the Indian market.

As Chandula Perera, managing director of JDC, says, "This partnership with Digiflex is a great opportunity for us to step into the Indian market. Together, we aim to replicate our success in Sri Lanka, where we are the market leader. This venture will also help Digiflex in the Sri Lankan market." This sentiment highlights the mutual benefits of the partnership, enabling both companies to expand their market reach and leverage each other's strengths, especially knowledge transfer of JDC’s advanced flexo and digital know-how to the Indian market.

Muralidhar Nalli, the CEO at Digiflex says, it means high-definition flexo plates (up to 350 LPI) to help Indian converters to compete with gravure standards. Plus faster turnaround times with localised service hubs in multiple regions. As Nalli says, "It means end-to-end solutions for corrugated, label, and flexible packaging converters."

Readers of WhatPackaging? magazine are aware about JDC’s advanced flexo and digital know-how. Their pre-press design facility is recognised as one of the finest in Southeast Asia. Digiflex, on the other hand, boasts a strong presence in the corrugation segment in India with a state-of-the-art facility and expertise in providing high-quality pre-press solutions.

Flexo benefits for the Indian market

As per Nalli, "The JDC and Digiflex collaboration is set to deliver significant advantages for the Indian printing and packaging industry: This includes, high-definition flexo plates."

Nalli says, "Our customers will benefit from comprehensive solutions for corrugated, label, and flexible packaging converters, streamlining their production processes.

In addition, tech expertise in multiple regions will ensure quicker service delivery and reduced downtime for clients. Perera says, "JDC's advanced flexo and digital know-how will be transferred to the Indian market, fostering skill development and technological advancement within the industry."

Beyond pre-press and plates, the partnership will also focus on sales and services of digital equipment, in association with leading global technology providers.
