AGI Greenpac, leading glass container manufacturer and diversified packaging solutions provider, has reported its Q1 FY26 results, while simultaneously unveiling expansions to strengthen its portfolio across multiple packaging formats.
For the quarter ended 30 June 2025, the company posted a 41% year-on-year increase in net profit, rising to INR 89-crore from INR 63-crore in the same quarter last year. Total income grew by 25% year-on-year to INR 721-crore, and EBITDA stood at INR 176-crore, a 20% rise from the previous year’s figure of INR 147-crore. This performance, according to the company, reflects disciplined execution and a sharp focus on operational efficiencies, product mix enhancement, and customer-centric packaging solutions.
The company attributed this upward trajectory to its strategic shift toward higher-margin segments, particularly in cosmetics, perfumery, and premium liquor packaging.
In a significant move, AGI Greenpac announced its entry into the aluminium can packaging segment, backed by a planned investment of INR 1000-crore. The upcoming facility in Uttar Pradesh, expected to be operational by Q3 FY28, will initially have an annual production capacity of 950-million aluminium cans, scalable to 1.6-billion by FY 2030. The venture aims to capitalise on strong synergies with AGI’s existing presence in the alcohol and F&B sectors.
This announcement comes on the heels of another major investment, the company’s INR 700-crore greenfield plant in Madhya Pradesh. Scheduled for commissioning by March 2027, the new facility will expand AGI’s glass manufacturing capacity from 2,100-tonnes per day to 2,600-tonnes per day.
Chairman and managing director Sandip Somany commented, “Q1 FY26 has set a strong foundation for the year. We solidified our financial position and achieved significant efficiencies throughout our operations. As we progress, our focus remains sharp on executing with agility, strengthening our strategic relationships, and consistently delivering sustainable value to all our stakeholders.”
Speaking on the company’s diversification into aluminium cans, Somany added, “We are strategically entering the aluminium cans segment with the clear goal of becoming a top player in this market within a decade. This new venture offers strong synergies with our existing glass packaging business and positions AGI Greenpac as a truly comprehensive packaging solutions provider.”
At the recently held CMPL 2025 expo, AGI Greenpac showcased a wide portfolio from its divisions: AGI Glaspac (glass), AGI Plastek (PET), and AGI Clozures (caps and closures). AGI Clozures spotlighted its high-security caps and closures, and promoted its range of anti-counterfeit solutions. Technological highlights included the NNPB (Narrow Neck Press and Blow) process, and in-house mould manufacturing.
