AGI Greenpac, a frontrunner in the packaging industry, recently leveraged its presence at Drinktec India to showcase its extensive product line and provide insight into its growth and technological innovation strategy. The company's participation in the CPHI event in Noida indicated a clear dual focus, addressing both mass-market supply needs and the demands of specialised, high-value packaging sectors.
Pioneering safety with PVC-coated glass and NABL accreditation
The core of AGI Greenpac's innovation lies in its R&D efforts aimed at solving critical safety issues, particularly in the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. The company has developed PVC-coated glass bottles, a technology designed to prevent spillage and mess caused when traditional glass containers break. This innovation holds immense potential in the chemical sector for handling corrosive materials like acids, where a spill could cause severe damage. AGI confirmed that the outer PVC coating has been extensively tested and is non-reactive with harsh chemicals, ensuring product integrity until disposal.
Further validating its commitment to quality, the company has recently obtained NABL accreditation for its in-house laboratory. This accreditation enables AGI Greenpac’s customers to carry out independent lab testing directly at the facility to verify product compatibility and feasibility, a step towards industry transparency and confidence.
Capacity expansion and market dynamics
To meet rapidly rising demand across multiple sectors, AGI Greenpac is executing a significant capacity expansion plan. The company’s current glass manufacturing capacity stands at 2,000+ tonnes per day. Amid rising domestic and international demand, AGI Greenpac has undertaken a series of strategic capacity expansion initiatives since March 2025. A new manufacturing plant in Uttar Pradesh will mark AGI Greenpac’s first foray into the aluminum cans segment, a rapidly growing market complementing the company’s existing glass packaging business.
Meanwhile, the upcoming glass containers greenfield plant in Madhya Pradesh, expected to be operational within the next 18 months, enables the company to better serve the growing demand, particularly across North India. The company views industry exhibitions as crucial; the brand showcased its complete pharma range at CPHI, including serum bottles (2.5 ml to six litres) and products from its closure division. AGI also highlighted that industry events provide a platform for customers looking for more value-added products beyond standard offerings, including different types of coloured glass and super flint glass, indicating a growing market appetite for premium and specialised packaging solutions.
