Currently, Albea is one the companies who dominate the Indian tube market. Almost one in every five tubes spotted on the shelf at any retail store, would be manufactured by Albea. There is a surge in demand for different types of tubes and caps in the beauty and personal care segment. Albea aims to cater effectively to that.

One of the innovations that caught our attention was the EcoSlim top. Kaushik V of Albea Group explained that since the tube consists of a body, throat and the cap, EcoSlim top aims to fuse these parts together and offer a single tube with a cap. The tube still maintains a flip-top design with a 180° opening, offering a 72% weight reduction.

Another innovation similar to this, was the EcoLittle top. Kaushik V said, “This is usually smaller in size to support brands who want to cater with small-sized packs.” He also highlighted the innovative dispenser inside a tube, which aims to offer controlled dispensing. These tubes are typically used for cream, lotion, gel, and shampoo.

Albea’s one of the most prominent innovations is GreenLeaf. These tubes are all-plastic laminate tubes made of PP for oral care, personal care and OTC pharma brands. It comes with the added benefits of reduction in weight and carbon footprint, as well as recyclability.

Kaushik V alluded to the growing demand for different types of cap closures, and how the company is on the make-ready mode to cater to all.
