Anuga FoodTec: A glimpse into the future of food packaging and processing
The Anuga FoodTec show from 20 to 22 August was battered by Mumbai rains, and yet, it was a full house on a historic scale, stretching over five halls, plus lots of new developments in processing, packaging, and logistics.

With investment pouring into food packaging and processing, all eyes were on the Bombay Exhibition Centre, which hosted the Anuga FoodTec India 2025. The central theme of the Koelnmesse-hosted exhibition was automation and sustainability in packaging. The exhibition drew over 1100 exhibitors and more than 60,000 trade visitors. On display were cutting-edge solutions designed to reduce waste, lower production costs, and meet modern environmental standards.
Innovations on display
Spheretech Packaging showcased its liquid nitrogen (LN2) dosing technology, which helps extend the shelf life of products by displacing oxygen and allows for the use of lighter, more sustainable PET bottles.
Fillpack Technology highlighted its processing and packaging machinery, emphasising solutions that boost efficiency and hygiene for a rapidly evolving food industry.
X-Rite Pantone demonstrated how its packaging colour measurement solutions can help converters and brand owners achieve accurate and consistent colour on the shelf, while also reducing waste and make-ready time.
The exhibition also served as a hub for automation and smart technology. Companies like Yaskawa Electric India presented their latest robotics and servo solutions for the food and beverage sector. Meanwhile, UFlex and SS Pro Filling System featured advancements in packaging machinery, including smart liquid filling systems and rotary monoblocks, which are designed to enhance speed and precision.
Other participants, such as New Era Machines, focused on high-speed flow wrapping and biscuit production lines, showcasing fully automated systems that cater to the needs of the food and pharmaceutical sectors.
Overall, Anuga FoodTec India 2025 provided a comprehensive look at the future of the food and beverage industry, demonstrating a strong push toward smarter, safer, and more sustainable manufacturing practices. The event was a venue for networking and sharing insights, playing a part in advancing innovation in India.
