Brueckner Group focuses on mono-materials for Interpack

Brueckner Maschinenbau confirmed its participation at Interpack 2026 in Dusseldorf, from 7 to 13 May, where the company will host a networking-centric exhibit alongside group members Brueckner Servtec, Kiefel, PackSys Global, and Hennecke.

At the show, the company’s highlight will be its 12-m wide BOPP film stretching lines. Markus Gschwandtner, managing director CSO of Brueckner Maschinenbau, informed, “These lines aim to set industry benchmarks for productivity and efficiency in commodity film production.”

Additionally, the company will showcase its biaxial line layouts for BOPE-HD films. When combined with BOPE-LLD, the technology enables the production of 100% PE mono-material packaging, which addresses global recycling targets.

The company will also showcase its inline coating systems. “These systems allow manufacturers to prepare films for high and ultra-high barrier applications through a cost-effective inline solution, which removes the need for additional off-line processing steps,” Gschwandtner said.

Gschwandtner noted that the technical focus for the upcoming show remains aligned with the innovations defined at K 2025. He said the interest in these themes remains strong, regarding high-output production and the shift toward sustainable substrates.

Gschwandtner said the company’s aim is to serve as a dedicated networking platform rather than a traditional machinery display. He stated that the quiet space in Hall 8a is intended to facilitate in-depth discussions across the packaging value chain.

Regarding the Indian market, Gschwandtner pointed to the recent Plastindia exhibition as a confirmation of the region's status as a hub for film technology. He noted that Indian film converters are increasingly investing in high-speed, high-output machinery. He cited an order placed by Dhunseri Poly Films in January for a 10.4-m wide BOPET line, which operates at a speed of 700-m/min.

Gschwandtner believes the Indian market is advancing rapidly due to active government policy support and a steady growth in demand for modern, efficient film solutions. He noted that several Indian customers already utilise the company’s hybrid lines for BOPP and BOPE production, which allows for a flexible transition between materials.

Looking ahead to the remainder of 2026, Gschwandtner said, “The company expects increased applications for battery separator films and composite current collector (CCC) films. The CCC technology involves a multilayer process for lithium-ion batteries intended to reduce weight and improve safety performance in the energy and mobility sectors.”

According to Gschwandtner, the primary objective for the company at Interpack 2026 is proximity to its global partners. He stated that the event offers a setting to engage with long-standing partners to address ongoing environmental and technical challenges through collaborative development.
