This effort, part of the broader Maidaan Saaf campaign, aims to promote responsible waste management and ensure an environmentally sustainable Rath Yatra.
The initiative kicked off on 26 June 2025, with a used PET bottle clean-up drive spanning from Digabareni Square to Swargadwar. To facilitate effective waste collection and public awareness, nearly 200 volunteers have been deployed across Puri to collect used PET bottles and educate visitors on eco-friendly disposal practices. Over 200 PET collection bins have been strategically placed in high-footfall areas, complemented by 10 help desks manned by trained vendors to guide and inform visitors.
The campaign also includes community-focused clean-up activities, such as a beach clean-up drive near GM Law College in Penthakotta and a plog run from Gundicha Temple to Badasankha, reinforcing the shared commitment to environmental stewardship.
A press statement issued by the company said, "The initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration between civic bodies, corporate partners, and local communities in driving meaningful environmental change."
