Anuga FoodTec India 2025, which took place from August 20th to 22nd, featured companies presenting sustainable packaging solutions. Two exhibitors, Parason and Crafeo, showcased their respective contributions to the packaging industry.
Parason presents moulded fibre machinery
Parason, a company based in Aurangabad, manufactures pulp and paper machinery. For the past seven years, the company has also been producing moulded fibre machines that use pulp sheets made from bagasse, a sugarcane byproduct. The company's solutions convert these sheets, sourced from Indian paper mills such as JK and Century, into food-grade products like trays, clamshells, and meal boxes.
Parason has completed more than 35 projects in India and 9 abroad. The company's exports account for nearly 70% of its sales. It has a presence in Brazil and highlights its role as an Indian manufacturer of moulded fibre machines. The company has ten manufacturing facilities in Aurangabad, including foundries and mould-making units. Despite a high demand in India, the adoption of these products is limited due to cost, while export markets show stronger growth for eco-friendly packaging.
Crafeo offers packaging for the HoReCa sector
Crafeo, a Mumbai-based provider of eco-friendly packaging, showcased its solutions for the hotel, restaurant, and catering (HoReCa) sector. Deepak Jain, a co-partner at Crafeo, said the company provides end-to-end services, including design, storage, and logistics.
Crafeo's product range includes paper straws, salad bowls, cutlery kits, and sugarcane-based meal trays. The company also offers customised packaging, such as corrugated pizza boxes, using food-grade inks. According to Jain, the demand for sustainable packaging is increasing, with clients willing to invest in both their brand and environmental goals. The company manages its logistics with a delivery fleet to ensure timely supplies.
