Cosmo First, a specialty films and rigid packaging provider, emphasised its integrated approach to packaging solutions and commitment to circular economy principles. According to Himanshu Gupta, the business head, rigid packaging, Cosmo Films, has been engaging with the food and beverage (F&B) ecosystem, particularly around food safety, product protection, and shelf appeal.

During Aahar, Gupta reported an encouraging response from both F&B brand owners and converters, noting a specific interest in reliable, food-safe packaging partners and end-to-end, scalable solutions.

Sustainability remains a paramount focus, with the company continuously working to develop solutions aligned with circular economy principles. Efforts are concentrated on promoting recyclable materials, notably RPET, and enhancing process efficiencies to reduce waste.

Gupta stressed the critical balance required, stating that the company’s R&D investments are aimed at developing solutions that are not only environmentally responsible but also commercially viable and scalable.

Interactions at the exhibition reinforced several key market trends shaping the packaging landscape. A primary demand is the increasing need to extend product shelf-life, which necessitates improved barrier properties against moisture and oxygen to enhance stability and reduce wastage.

Additionally, there is a growing market demand for premium and visually appealing packaging, including clear, high-quality formats that boost product visibility.

Gupta conveyed a strong outlook for flexible packaging growth in India, especially within the food segment. This expansion is attributed to the rising demand for packaged and ready-to-eat food, coupled with the need for cost-effective and convenient packaging solutions that offer advantages in logistics and usability.

Cosmo First is positioned to leverage these trends through its ongoing focus on specialty films and value-added solutions, while also supporting converters with high-performance films designed for enhanced operational efficiency, smooth machine running, and superior printability.
