With Interpack just around the corner, Cosmo Films’ focus is built on three themes, namely, sustainability, innovation and specialty films. Kulbhushan Malik, global business head, Cosmo Films said, “We have already lined up advanced meetings with some of our global partners, addressing some of their requirements and providing solutions catered to their customers and market.”

Cosmo Films will showcase high-performance BOPP and specialty films portfolio, which continues to be a key strength area for the company. The company will also be presenting solutions from Cosmo Speciality Films, which reflects ongoing focus application-specific development. The portfolio spans packaging and lamination films, catering to a wide range of use cases across industries.

A key enabler in this is its strong R&D capability, which allows Cosmo to develop customised solutions based on specific application needs. This includes the development of high barrier and functional films, which are critical for enhancing product performance in areas such as shelf life, protection, and usability.

Additionally, Cosmo will be showcasing rigid packaging solutions. Malik shared, “Our priority is to expand global partnerships, particularly in key markets such as Europe and North America, where there is significant opportunity for growth.” The company is also actively working on strengthening relationships with converters and brand owners, as these partnerships are critical to driving scale and consistency in the business.

Talking about the show, Malik believes one of the most prominent trends expected at Interpack is the continued focus on sustainability and the circular economy. This is driving a shift toward mono-material packaging solutions, which are easier to recycle and align with evolving regulatory requirements.

Cosmo’s expectations from Interpack are centred around strengthening global visibility and expanding reach across international markets.

Additionally, he said, “There is a growing emphasis on automation and efficiency in packaging processes. Companies are increasingly looking at ways to optimise operations, reduce costs, and improve output through technology and process improvements.”

Cosmo’s product portfolio caters to a diverse set of industries, including food packaging, FMCG, and personal care, all of which require high levels of consistency, safety, and performance. In addition to these, the company also serves industrial and specialty applications, where requirements can be more customised and performance-driven.

Geographically, Cosmo has a strong presence in the domestic Indian market, where demand continues to grow across sectors. “At the same time, exports form an important part of its business, allowing us to serve customers across global markets,” Malik added.

Cosmo Films adheres to ISO standards covering quality, environmental management, and safety, and comply with food safety requirements for packaging applications. Malik explained, “We are investing in R&D to develop eco-friendly alternatives that align with sustainability expectations. This includes a strong focus on developing recyclable solutions that can meet both regulatory and customer requirements.”

According to Malik, the Indian packaging industry is currently one of the fastest-growing globally, driven by multiple structural factors. The rise of eCommerce has significantly increased demand for efficient and reliable packaging solutions, while the growth of organised retail continues to expand consumption patterns.

At the same time, Malik said that there is a noticeable shift toward the adoption of advanced materials and automation within the industry. This is helping improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability across operations. These developments present a strong opportunity for India to position itself as a global manufacturing and export hub for packaging materials.

Looking ahead to 2026, Cosmo’s focus is on expanding specialty films portfolio. This includes strengthening offerings in line with evolving customer requirements and industry trends. At the same time, the company aims to further establish itself as a value-added solutions provider. This involves going beyond standard products and delivering solutions that address specific application needs and challenges.
