The partnership between DCGpac and UKHI will enable nationwide access to EcoGran, UKHI’s proprietary compostable biopolymer granules derived from agricultural waste, via major online marketplaces.
The alliance aims to improve India’s circular economy by providing businesses with a sustainable and cost-effective alternative to conventional plastics. With India’s ongoing enforcement of the single-use plastic ban, EcoGran will offer manufacturers a compliant replacement that reduces plastic usage, cuts carbon emissions, and lowers packaging costs by 15-25%.
Suresh Bansal, founder and CEO of DCGpac, said, “We’re thrilled to partner with UKHI to bring truly sustainable packaging to the Indian market at scale.” Bansal added, “This collaboration strengthens our mission to advance circular packaging solutions that are affordable, high-performing, and planet-friendly.”
Under this partnership, UKHI will focus on the production of EcoGran, while DCGpac will manage marketing, eCommerce listing, order fulfilment, and last-mile delivery. The partnership aims for market penetration, ensuring that even micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can adopt next-generation packaging without high costs or logistical complexities.
The partnership benefits eCommerce, direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and retail companies, offering timely access to eco-friendly packaging materials. Each ton of EcoGran prevents approximately three tons of agricultural waste from being burned, significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions and helping businesses meet corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandates and government sustainability standards.
With DCGpac having served over 60,000 customers and delivered more than 750-million packaging products, this partnership marks a step towards a nationwide shift to bio-based, circular packaging in India.
