Gramiyaa, a Bengaluru-based cooking oil brand with a presence across five metros in India and the USA, is redefining cooking oil packaging with earthy-coloured gable top cartons.

India’s traditional cooking oil landscape is undergoing a significant transformation, with health-conscious consumers increasingly favouring flavour-rich cold-pressed oils. Leading this change is Bengaluru-based brand Gramiyaa, which has introduced India’s first gable-top carton pack for wood cold-pressed cooking oil.
This redesigned packaging, launched under the “Fresh Drip” campaign, challenges nearly a century of industry convention dominated by plastic and glass bottles. Gramiyaa’s core assertion is that their innovation solves the long-standing problem of freshness degradation in conventional containers.
The emphasis of the new packaging is on preservation from “seed to seal.” Unlike conventional bottles that allow light and air exposure—factors that cause oils to lose aroma, flavour, and nutrition—Gramiyaa’s carton is engineered to lock in quality.
The multi-layer structure of the carton completely blocks light, preventing photo-oxidation and subsequent rancidity. In addition, before the pack is sealed, oxygen is removed and replaced with inert nitrogen, preventing oxidation and nutrient loss. Beyond the external cap, a robust inner barrier ensures the aroma and flavour are contained, even after the initial opening.
The gable-top carton is the final stage of a meticulous quality control process designed to eliminate common causes of spoilage. Gramiyaa employs a three-step technique to purify its oils, which are wood cold-pressed at its facility in Trichy, Tamil Nadu:
Gramiyaa offers groundnut, coconut, sesame, and mustard oils, ensuring traceability with every carton featuring a QR code that provides consumers with exact details on when and where their oil was pressed, building trust in a sector often lacking transparency.
By pioneering the gable-top carton format, Gramiyaa aims to set a new standard for cold-pressed oils, making it easier for consumers to choose products that truly retain the authentic, natural quality of being fresh from the mill.
