Kumar noted that the government's continued emphasis on infrastructure is evident in the allocation of Rs 12.2-lakh crore for public capital expenditure. According to Kumar, the targeted investments in transport corridors, urban infrastructure, capital goods, electronics manufacturing, and semiconductors signal a "clear intent to build deeper, more resilient manufacturing capabilities."
From an industry perspective, Kumar stated that these moves will directly bolster the adhesives sector. "This supports demand across infrastructure-led and technology-intensive applications," he said, citing critical needs in transportation, electronics, and semiconductor manufacturing where performance and durability are paramount.
The budget’s alignment with innovation and digitalisation was also a key takeaway. Kumar pointed to the Semiconductor Mission 2.0 and the emphasis on advanced electronics as areas that mirror Henkel’s strategic focus.
On the sustainability front, Kumar commended the Rs 20,000-crore allocation for carbon capture and utilisation. He observed that this move signals that the government is treating sustainability as an "economic enabler rather than a compliance requirement."
Kumar concluded that the budget underscores a responsible growth framework anchored in inclusivity and long-term competitiveness.
