The global plastics and rubber industry’s leading international trade fair, K 2025, is set to open its doors in Dusseldorf from 8 to 15 October 2025, with India establishing a notably large and prominent presence. The event anticipates more than 3,000 exhibitors from 61 countries across 18 exhibition halls and will serve as a critical international stage for the rapidly transforming sector.
India’s participation is a key focus, with around 170 Indian brands confirmed to exhibit at the K Show. This marks an increase in representation and underscores the growing global recognition of Indian manufacturers. The Indian presence will be comprehensive, covering the core segments of the industry: companies will showcase machinery and equipment for the plastics and rubber industries, raw materials and auxiliaries, and finished plastic products and processes.
WhatPackaging? readers will recall the K 2025 presentation, which took place in Mumbai; the presentation was intended to get more Indian companies to participate in the global trade fair on plastics and rubber.
At the gathering in Mumbai, Thomas Franken, director of K-Plastics and Rubber, Messe Dusseldorf, shared that K is the global hub for innovations when it comes to the plastics and rubber industry. He mentioned the highlights from the 2022 edition, where exhibitors from 59 countries participated. 650 exhibitors from Asia participated, out of which 160 were from India.
Despite uncertainty, global plastics production has been steady in recent years. Franken stated, “Plastic was, is, and will be the best material compared to glass, paper, or metal.” He added that this is because plastic is lightweight, durable, and it is easy to shape into any design. It is low-cost, recyclable, and it has by far the smallest carbon footprint of the other materials.
Bhushan Sonar, marketing head at RR Plast Extrusions, while speaking at the K 2025 presentation in Mumbai, shared his views on the trade fair. He said, “This will be one of the biggest demonstrations from India at the K fair.” Sonar also added that Indian machinery is at par with global brands in terms of scope and performance, and that is why India has an export market of 50%. He concluded by saying, “We deserve a good presentation at K 2025 on behalf of well-made India.”
Prominent Indian brands participating include Kohli Printing and Converting Machines, Dalmia Polypro Industries, High Grade Industries, Rajoo Engineers, SP Ultraflex Systems, Aawadkrupa Plastomech, Volcano Flexi Tech Industries, Acme Drinktec Solutions, Cosmic Machines, Lineomatic India, Mamata Machinery, Maruti Plastotech, and JJ Industries.
Under the motto, “The Power of Plastics! Green – Smart – Responsible,” the event will concentrate on the three most relevant fields of action for the sector: circular economy, digitalisation, and people. These guiding themes will be reflected in the range of exhibitors and in special formats, including the 'Plastics shape the Future' special show and the debut of a 'Women in Plastics' networking event designed to promote the visibility of women in the international sector.
K 2025 is expected to attract industry leaders, experts, and decision-makers from a wide range of end-user industries, including automotive, electronics, medical technology, packaging, and construction, offering an essential platform for Indian exhibitors to establish international connections and showcase solutions that address the industry's focus on sustainable and innovative development.
