Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2025, a limited-release expression matured in Marsala wine casks

At World Whiskies Awards 2026 in London, Piccadily Agro Industries’ Indri Single Malt Indian Whisky won the Best Special Edition Design title for its Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2025. This win marks a historic moment as Indri becomes the first Indian brand to claim the top spot in this specific category.

Organised by Whisky Magazine, the World Whiskies Awards follow a multi-stage judging process that evaluates both liquid quality and visual craftsmanship across more than 30 categories.

Royal heritage as design inspiration
The award-winning packaging was conceived by Indian designer Krsnaa Mehta, founder of India Circus. The design philosophy centres on an immersive narrative of India’s royal heritage, drawing inspiration from the lush gardens of the heritage era.

The packaging features a vibrant and ornate visual language characterised by depictions of majestic elephants and birds set against arches that echo traditional architectural finesse. This artistic collaboration sought to translate the intangible essence of Indian culture into a physical language, utilising intricate layers of traditional motifs and symbolic elements.

Packaging as immersion and identity
In the premium spirits sector, packaging serves as the primary physical touchpoint between the brand and the connoisseur. For Indri, the 2025 Diwali Collector’s Edition was designed to communicate trust and intent through high-end finishings and narrative-led artwork that transforms the bottle into a collectable piece of art.

The design transcends visual appeal to become a form of storytelling, capturing the celebratory spirit of the festival through rich, evocative hues and textures that evoke a sense of cultural belonging.

The global narrative of Indian luxury
The win underscores a shifting global narrative where Indian brands are being recognised for their ability to compete at the highest level of luxury design. By winning Best Special Edition Design, Indri joins global distilleries that bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetic appeal.
