Industry to gather for fourth edition of Respack

Global packaging leaders will convene at Respack 25 in Mumbai, focusing on sustainable design, materials, and responsible innovation in packaging technologies.

The fourth edition of the international conference on responsible packaging, Respack 2025, is scheduled for 2 and 3 June 2025 at Hotel The Lalit, Mumbai. The event is being organised by the Foundation for Innovative Packaging and Sustainability (FIPS) in association with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh (NIDMP), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.

The conference will be inaugurated by Prabh Das, managing director and CEO of HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited. Rajani Ranjan Rashmi, IAS (Retd), former chief secretary of Manipur and independent distinguished fellow at TERI, along with Dr Sudhanshu, secretary, APEDA, will be the guests of honour. Arvind Mehta, chairman, governing council, AIPMA, will attend as special guest.

Prof S Sivaram, Padma Shri awardee and former director of National Chemical Laboratory, will deliver the keynote address on Polyolefins in Packaging: Challenges to Circularity. Prof GD Yadav, Padma Shri awardee and former vice chancellor, Institute of Chemical Technology, will open the conference with a presentation titled Packaging the Future: Achieving Net Zero through Responsibility and Innovation.

The conference will feature 16 sessions, with 35 speakers and 24 panellists from India and abroad, including participants from Switzerland, Germany, USA, and Austria. More than 400 delegates are expected to attend. Industry representation will include speakers and panellists from companies such as Diageo, Godrej, Britannia industries, Marico, Mondelez, Nestle India, Reckitt Benckiser, and Bisleri international, among others.

The second edition of the FIPSA-2025 Responsible Packaging Award Ceremony will also be held on 2 June. Over 250 entries have been received across categories, including commercial design, innovation, sustainability, start-ups, and students. Dr NC Saha, chairman of FIPS, stated, “Registration for delegates is currently in progress. All packaging stakeholders are encouraged to participate and contribute to the success of Respack 2025. Evaluation by an expert jury is scheduled for 10 May.
