Mamata Machinery presented its latest flexible packaging equipment at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre during Interpack 2026. The company focused on the technical requirements of producing stand-up pouches and sachets using recyclable mono-material substrates. The exhibition served as a platform for the firm to highlight how its modular machine designs allowed converters to transition from traditional laminates to sustainable polyolefin-based films without losing production efficiency.
The featured pouch-making system operated with a precision servo-driven control unit that managed the web tension for thin-gauge recyclable films. The equipment utilised a specialised sealing technology designed to handle the narrower sealing windows of mono-materials, ensuring leak-proof integrity for liquid and dry food applications. The machinery featured a high-speed changeover system that enabled operators to switch between different pouch formats, such as zipper-lock or side-gusseted bags, with minimal downtime on the shop floor.
Sanjay Amin, director of sales and marketing at Mamata Machinery, said the equipment was engineered to provide versatility to converters who handled a diverse range of substrates. He noted that the integration of digital controls allowed for real-time monitoring of sealing temperatures and pressure, which was critical for maintaining consistent quality when processing 50-micron to 100-micron films.
The design incorporated an automated rejection system for non-compliant pouches and an integrated pick-and-place module for secondary packaging. These technical refinements provided global brand owners with a robust platform for standardising their flexible packaging production while meeting the stringent recyclability criteria of the international market.
