Meech to highlight static and contamination control solutions at Plastindia

Meech Shavotech India is set to demonstrate proven static management and web cleaning solutions at Plastindia 2026 in New Delhi from 5-10 February. The company aims to address the "readiness gap" for Indian manufacturers adopting advanced processes such as MDO and in-mould labelling (IML).

According to Meech analysis, unmanaged static can cost businesses as much as Euro 13,000 (Rs 16-lakh) per month in wasted materials and lost production. As the industry shifts toward MDO technologies to optimise raw materials like PE, the associated processes—heating, stretching, annealing, and cooling—generate significant static charges.

Ravi Shinde, India sales manager at Meech Shavotech India, said, “India’s manufacturers are ready to adopt the technologies that will define the next decade of plastic packaging innovation, but without also investing in advanced static control and web cleaning, the return on that investment is put at risk from day one.”

Shinde added that treating static and contamination issues only after they cause production failures is an "expensive approach," noting that Indian manufacturers can avoid the trial-and-error phase experienced by global markets.

At the exhibition, Meech will showcase the CyClean non-contact web cleaning system. Engineered for converting and labelling, it uses computational fluid dynamics to remove unbonded particles down to 0.5 micron without touching the substrate.

Also on display will be the CyClean-R, designed specifically for narrow-web applications that rely on low tension. It uses positive and negative airflows to clean thin or sensitive materials without risking web damage.

The company will also highlight the Hyperion 994CPD, a compact perforation detector. This system uses Automated Baseline Current Detection (ABCD) to detect perforations in real-time without contacting the material, making it suitable for sterile medical-grade materials.

To align with Industry 5.0 trends, Meech will present the Hyperion SmartControl Touch, which gives manufacturers centralised oversight of their static control ecosystem via an integrated touchscreen or remote mobile access.
