PackMach Asia Expo 2023 kicks off tomorrow

IPMMI roadshows at Chandigarh and Delhi laid the foundation for PackMach Asia Expo. The 2023 edition will transpire from 4 to 6 October at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The three-day event will witness more than 200 exhibitors and showcase 3,000 plus products

PackMach Asia Expo (PMAE) is a trade show for the processing and packaging, which is jointly organised by The Institute of Packaging Machinery Manufacturers of India (IPMMI) and Messe Muenchen India, with support of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI). It is scheduled in concurrence with Drink Technology India and World Tea and Coffee Expo.

The current edition with over 15,000-sqm exhibition space, will witness more than 200 exhibitors and display around 3,000 products. It will also offer a hosted buyer-seller forum to boost the export promotion capabilities; and uplift the micro industry segment of packaging.

Some of the key exhibitors will be IMA-PG, Parle Global, Nordson India, Mamata Machinery, Prismtech Packaging Solutions, Hilda Automation, Nilkamal, Om Gajanan Packaging, Stelda Packaging, and many more.

According to a Future Market Insights report, the packaging machinery market is valued at USD 59.3 billion in 2023; and is expected to reach USD 92 billion over the next decade at a CAGR of 4.5%.

The evolving international standards for product safety and environmental sustainability propel the machine manufacturers to up their game, in terms of producing compliant packaging. And, rapid globalisation necessitates standardised packaging solutions for multinational distribution.

Rising to this issue, PMAE aims to bring to the forefront the multifarious support that is being garnered by the packaging industry with the Government of India, the MSME ministry and the Commerce ministry.

Anthony D’souza, president of IPMMI, said, “Manufacturers value the opportunity to explore innovative solutions and technologies that can enhance their operations. The PackMach show's unique aspect of attracting a diverse audience and facilitating the exchange of ideas between different verticals within the packaging industry has been particularly appealing.”

The show targets the food and beverage, confectionery and bakery, snacks, FMCG, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, supply chain and logistics professionals. Also, it will offer opportunities for partnership, collaboration, technology transfer and knowledge sharing, making it the most effective and instrumental platform for companies to leverage on their investment and benefit from a guaranteed ROI.

D’Souza believes that the PackMach show has garnered “positive business sentiment from manufacturers in the packaging industry”. He added, “In order to support the ‘Make in India’ initiative, IPMMI is fostering a collaborative ecosystem among its members and industry stakeholders. It facilitates knowledge-sharing, best practices, and technical advancements through conferences, seminars, and workshops. IPMMI aims to enhance the quality and competitiveness of Indian packaging machinery on a global scale.”

The panel discussion, which was held at Chandigarh on 25 August, focused on packaging machines and their relevance in business growth. Followed by, another roadshow and panel discussion at Delhi, held on 22 September, addressed the circular economy. Both the roadshows set forth the momentum for PackMach Asia Expo.
