Pudumjee Paper Products has received approval from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) to establish a specialty paper manufacturing facility in Mahad, Maharashtra. The project must be executed within five years and is subject to certain conditions. Currently, the company is in talks with suppliers overseas to finalise the equipment and develop project specifications.

The company's focus has been on offering environmentally responsible alternatives to single-use plastics, catering to pharmaceuticals, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and hygiene products.

The company is also setting up another 15.4-megawatt solar power plant in Maharashtra to enhance sustainability; the plant is expected to be operational by the middle of the current financial year. The solar power plant will increase the share of green energy by 35% in the energy needs of the company’s operations. It will also contribute to environmental goals and lower energy costs.

13% of the company’s energy comes from renewable sources, and water usage has reduced from 28 to 18.5-cubic metres per metric tonne.

Pudumjee Paper Products recently announced its financial results for the quarter ending March 2025. The results highlighted operational challenges, as there was a decline in profit before tax and profit after tax. The operating margin and net sales indicate ongoing difficulties in maintaining profitability. The profit before tax (PBT) stood at INR 19.58-crore, and profit after tax (PAT) for the last six months was INR 38.43-crore. The operating profit margin is at its lowest point at 12.58%, and net sales have dropped to INR 190.08-crore.
