This esteemed recognition places Sun Chemical among the top 15% of rated companies within its business sector, underscoring its significant commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

The EcoVadis rating evaluates a company's performance across four critical areas: environment, sustainable procurement, ethics, and labor and human rights. Sun Chemical's strong showing in these categories highlights the effectiveness of its sustainability strategy and its measurable advancements towards its ESG goals.

Mike Simoni, global sustainability director at Sun Chemical, emphasised the company's dedication to sustainable practices. Simoni said, "At Sun Chemical, sustainability is not just a responsibility, it is a catalyst for innovation." He added, "This recognition from EcoVadis validates our efforts to embed sustainability into every facet of our operations, from product development to global partnerships."

This silver rating is a key component of Sun Chemical’s broader sustainability roadmap, which outlines ambitious targets for carbon reduction, circular economy initiatives, and transparent stakeholder engagement. The company's sustainability efforts are structured around three core pillars: sustainable operations, collaborative sustainability initiatives, and sustainable products and services. These achievements reinforce Sun Chemical's position as a trusted partner for customers seeking innovative and sustainable chemical solutions.

Furthermore, Sun Chemical is guided by its proprietary ‘5R framework’—Reuse, Reduce, Renew, Recycle, and Redesign. This framework allows the company to effectively address both upstream and downstream environmental impacts. Through operational and technological initiatives aligned with the 5R framework, Sun Chemical has successfully reduced its carbon footprint, conserved virgin resources, and minimised waste. This holistic approach firmly establishes Sun Chemical as a leader in sustainable practices across the inks, pigments, coatings, and adhesives industries.

EcoVadis, a leader in business sustainability ratings, has assessed over 150,000 companies. Its methodology is built upon international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact, and the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Standard. EcoVadis ratings span over 250 spend categories and 185 countries, providing a comprehensive benchmark for corporate sustainability.
