Earlier this month, the Oberoi Group launched Giftwrapped by Oberoi, a curated gifting line that places packaging design and sustainability at the centre of its concept. The initiative reflects the group’s effort to integrate craftsmanship, eco-conscious materials, and brand identity into its premium gifting experiences.
The packaging has been developed around four key principles: personalisation, artisanal collaboration, sustainability, and precision in design. Materials used include FSC-certified paper, soy-based inks, reusable rigid boxes, and hand-woven baskets made in partnership with women artisans from Sirohi. The collection uses design and structural details consistent with The Oberoi Group’s visual language, employing a restrained palette and textural finishes that mirror the brand’s heritage.
The range features six collections – celebration, festive, signature selection, wedding wows, welcome whispers and little miracles. Each collection has distinct packaging formats suited to the occasion, such as vegan-leather trunks, rigid boxes, or woven baskets. The Festive range, for instance, draws on motifs inspired by Indian architecture and decor, using colours like Oberoi Blue, Brown, Ivory, and Gold with an accent orange for the Diwali season.
“Gifting is deeply personal. With Giftwrapped by Oberoi, our vision was to go beyond the conventional and create something that truly mirrors the personality of the giver while celebrating craftsmanship, sustainability, and design. Every hamper is an invitation to tell a story, one that the receiver will cherish long after the moment has passed,” said Natasha Mehta, vice-president – guest experiences, The Oberoi Group.
Functionality and reusability have been prioritised in the design process. The packaging is intended to serve as a lasting keepsake, with the materials and structure designed for repurposing rather than single-use disposal. The brand also offers customisation options such as monogramming and engraving, enabling personalisation for corporate and individual gifting.
The initiative also connects packaging design with social responsibility by sourcing hand-crafted components from local women artisans, integrating sustainability and community engagement into the product’s life cycle.
With Giftwrapped by Oberoi, the hospitality group joins a growing number of Indian brands investing in premium packaging innovation. The move reflects broader industry trends where reusability, sustainable sourcing, and brand storytelling through design are becoming essential to modern gifting.
