Thorsten Seehars has been appointed CEO of Sudpack, succeeding Erik Bouts, who is stepping down after six years to begin his retirement. Seehars, who has previously advised the company, brings global leadership experience in managing business segments for major technology firms. “I’m truly excited to take on the overall responsibility at such a well-established and highly innovative company as Sudpack,” he said.
Bouts played a key role in reshaping the company’s structure by introducing business units, improving its ability to respond to customers. He also placed a consistent focus on sustainability and research. “It’s a privilege to continue the work of my predecessor, who strengthened our market position through strategic foresight and with a consistent focus on facts, figures, and results,” Seehars added.
The company’s Strategy 2030 will guide its next phase of development. Carolin Grimbacher, managing partner, said, “We are very pleased to gain a strong leader and seasoned strategist with Thorsten Seehars – someone who will shape the long-term direction of the Sudpack Group together with the entire team and drive it forward with fresh momentum.”
Sudpack is also expanding globally, including in India. In 2022, Kamakshi Sudpack inaugurated a large-scale facility near Ahmedabad following an INR 200-crore investment. “Our well-considered site concept is designed so we can gradually expand its capacities,” said Tharcisse Carl, who oversaw its construction. The Indian plant strengthens Sudpack’s position in South Asia and supports its commitment to sustainable packaging.
