This move is aimed at advancing the company's sustainable packaging solutions.
The new line positions the Toppan Group to meet the surging global demand for eco-friendly, recycle-ready mono-material packaging, particularly in regions like Europe, which are transitioning from PET to BOPP and BOPE films. TSF will leverage its extensive expertise in BOPP to launch full-scale BOPE production, catering to the diversifying needs of packaging converters and global brand owners in the food and FMCG sectors worldwide.
With mass production set to begin from mid-November this year, the introduction of this hybrid line is projected to expand TSF's film production capacity by approximately 40%.
The initiative aligns with the Toppan Group's global strategy for eco-friendly sustainable packaging and TSF's commitment to circular economy principles. By producing BOPE films with enhanced recyclability, the company will support brands in complying with India’s Plastic Waste Management Rules and EPR requirements.
Looking ahead, TSF aims to increase its annual sales volume to approximately 33,000 tons in 2027. The company plans to combine the new line’s capabilities with the Toppan Group’s broader technologies, including its proprietary transparent GL Barrier films, to develop high-value-added BOPP and BOPE films that feature enhanced functionality like heat resistance and sealability.
