The decision to invest in Brückner was due to technology and service, says Aakash Polyfilms

Over three decades, Aakash Polyfilms has been an integral part of the Indian flexible packaging industry. A specialist manufacturer of metallised PET, BOPP and CPP films, the company is already producing CPP, BOPP and BOPET on European lines.

The advanced sliding chain track system FOK 8.8 in the TDO will support Aakash to operate the BOPET line constantly at high speed and also will reduce chain maintenance and refurbishment significantly – and thus, increase the uptime at reduced costs.

According to the company, the decision to invest in Brückner was based on two main reasons: technology plus service and support.

Pawan Tulsiani, director at Aakash Polyfilms, said, “The features of the 8.7-m wide high-speed BOPET line are absolutely convincing. And the fact that Brückner supports us with local forces from their team at Mumbai is of course a huge advantage for us to succeed in this new business.”

Johann Kreilinger, head of sales - Middle East, Brückner Maschinenbau, said, “The concrete negotiations for this project started at the beginning of the pandemic. Travelling was impossible, so Aakash and we helped ourselves with virtual meetings via videoconferencing. With such a complex project, it takes a great deal of trust and we are very grateful that Aakash has granted us this. We will repay it by doing our best to make Aakash a major player within India’s BO industry.”
