This was the company’s second appearance at the show, and it recorded a good response comparatively. Siddharth Kachroo, head of sales - product inspection, Mettler Toledo said the company received a good amount of inquiries because of the live trials displayed.

Mettler Toledo displayed its range of solutions for the food and processing industry, right from metal detector to X-ray machines, checkweigher, weighing scales, products for formulation, inline equipment, and moisture analyser.

It launched the new variant of digital metal detector, M 34. “This is the revamped version, overcoming challenges from the previous versions, and also provides better sensitivity over conventional metal detectors,” said Kachroo.

The company expected a typical visitor profile of people from quality inspection and engineering departments from the food industry. The products were also aimed at companies looking for automation and digitisation.

Kachroo said, “The trend is more towards automation and digitisation, Industry 4.0 and many more tech advancements. As an industry, food is growing in India, with increased consumption and more opportunities.”

He said, “Post-Covid, customers are focusing on efficiency, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and digitalisation. These are the hot topics which help in reducing wastage and saving costs.”

The company showcased product inspection technologies at the exhibition. The focus was on productivity enhancement, product quality and safety. “We aim to connect with food manufacturers to demonstrate how operational excellence can be achieved,” added Kachroo.
