Chetan Jain has taken the helm at Taurus Packaging, succeeding his father, Rajesh Jain, in a leadership transition that has been underway for six months. The move sees Rajesh assume the role of chairman.
The board of directors made the unanimous decision to appoint Jain as managing director and CEO. In his new role, he will oversee all operational aspects of the company, focusing on improving overall productivity. Rajesh will continue to be involved as chairman, passing on the “responsibility, credibility and heritage” of the company to the next generation, as he said in a statement.
Jain's appointment is the culmination of a phased transition aimed at ensuring a smooth handover of leadership. Over the past few years, he has been instrumental in introducing key initiatives, including the HIP Framework and a renewed focus on sustainability, innovation, and global expansion.
This leadership change marks a new chapter for the company, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Taurus Packaging has grown from a small enterprise into a leader in shrink sleeve packaging, with a presence on three continents.
Jain's vision is to transform the company into a global leader in the industry, building on the foundation established by his father.
"This is a huge responsibility and opportunity to carry forward the legacy created by my father," Jain said. He added that his focus would be to work harder to build "unprecedented competency" in the flexible packaging industry.
