Enfocus, represented in India by ThinkPrint, comprising Venus Infotech and Basis Systems, has rolled out its latest PitStop 25.07 upgrade, bringing a suite of new features aimed at boosting efficiency and addressing key challenges within the Indian print and packaging industry. Hemanshu Desai of Venus Infotech highlights the advancements and ongoing commitment to the Indian market.

As per Desai, "The focus of PitStop 25.07 lies in introducing new features beneficial to the printing industry, with an emphasis on capabilities like multi-line text insertion, which is crucial for variable data printing." PitStop continues its legacy of simple integration, operating as a plug-in to Acrobat for PitStop Pro and as a standalone system for PitStop Server, ensuring a seamless fit into existing pre-press workflows commonly used in India.

PitStop 25.07 introduces features such as optimising cut and crease lines and comparing gamut, which are certainly useful for the local industry. The ability to copy-paste object attributes also adds a valuable layer of flexibility. Hemanshu Desai confirms that PitStop 25.07 handles multilingual text and various Indian scripts efficiently during pre-flighting, provided the necessary fonts are embedded in the PDF file or available on the system.

Enfocus offers flexible pricing models for the Indian market, including Perpetual Licenses with annual maintenance, monthly subscription licenses, and yearly subscription licenses, all designed to be affordable for businesses of all sizes, including small and medium-sized enterprises.

PitStop boasts a strong track record in India, with hundreds of companies benefiting from its capabilities. Desai shared a few names as examples, including Aakar Ltd, Art-in-Art, Condenast, Lion Bridge, SAP Print Solution, Shree Arun Packaging, Temple Packaging, and The Hindu.

Addressing concerns about handling large image files, Desai noted that PitStop’s image compression feature has been a long-standing capability, allowing for downsampling of high-resolution images and optimising compression based on RIP requirements. PitStop 25.07 is compatible with typical Indian IT infrastructure, requiring Windows 10 or 11, Mac 13, 14, or 15, a minimum of 2GB RAM, and Acrobat DC Standard.

While Enfocus does not currently offer specific bundles combining PitStop with other products like Switch, Review, or Phoenix for the Indian market, the long-term vision for PitStop's development remains strong. Having completed over 25 years, PitStop continues to evolve, with its development centre in Bengaluru underscoring Enfocus's commitment to the Indian market and emerging trends like digital and variable data printing.

For local technical support and training resources, Venus Infotech ThinkPrint provides comprehensive online assistance, acting as the first level of contact for Indian users. Desai states that most issues are addressed within an hour, emphasising their commitment to prompt and effective customer support.
