The investment represents a major technological leap for Shree Plast

Soma has completed the installation of its Optima flexo press at Shree Plast Industries, a growing packaging converter situated in Satara (Maharashtra). The high-performance press will upgrade Shree Plast’s technological capabilities and operational efficiency.

Shree Plast Industries specialises in laminated flexible packaging and printed poly films, serving a broad spectrum of the Indian market. Its extensive application range encompasses food segments such as bakery, dairy, snacks, and spices, as well as agro, industrial, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and pharmaceutical markets. The company focuses on customised packaging solutions and multicolour printing, and it is expanding its production capacity to meet escalating market demands.

The newly commissioned Optima press represents a major technological leap for Shree Plast. The system integrates Soma's advanced automation features, which together are designed to deliver faster setup times, minimal material waste, and consistently high print quality.

Santosh Vaidya, director at Shree Plast Industries, said, "Our goal was to further strengthen print quality while increasing operational efficiency." Vaidya added, "Soma's Optima and its automation capabilities provide a reliable, high-performance solution that supports our growth ambitions."

The investment reflects a broader industry trend among regional packaging converters to invest strategically in advanced flexographic technology to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
