Pack.Nxt 2025 Awards honoured companies and partnerships driving the industry towards a greener tomorrow

The future of sustainable and circular packaging was celebrated on 16 December at the prestigious Pack.Nxt 2025 Awards ceremony, which honoured the companies and partnerships driving the industry towards a greener tomorrow.

The Pack.Nxt Most Admired Plastic-Free Packaging Company award was won by Greendot Biopak. The company was lauded for its exceptional commitment to eliminating plastic at the source, pioneering aqueous plastic-free coatings, biopolymers, and compostable packaging. Their win is underpinned by global certifications, including TUV Austria, Flustix, USFDA, and DIN CERTCO, reflecting the credibility and scientific rigour of their solutions.

The Pack.Nxt Most Admired Company Driving Circular Economy award was bagged by Saspack Ventures for its work in championing recycling, reuse, and circularity. A pioneer in eco-friendly and resource-efficient packaging, the company impressed the judges with its advanced European and Japanese technology, manufacturing, and holding the Smithers Pira certification—a distinction unique in India. Its innovations, such as the Lotus Board and high-strength composite rigid boards, are setting new benchmarks for responsible production.

Pack.Nxt Most Admired Recyclable Packaging Company was awarded to Thakkar Flexipack for its focus on designing packaging with a second life. The company was celebrated for its 100% recyclable mono-material pouch, an innovation that directly replaces traditional, non-recyclable multi-layer structures. This solution proves that high-end packaging—complete with shelf-life stability, high-barrier protection, and a functional de-gassing valve—can coexist with full recyclability.

Pack.Nxt Most Admired Company Driving Best Practice in Sustainability saw Eternal Limited as the winner in this category, honouring leaders who set gold-standard benchmarks and inspire industry-wide change. The company's leadership was evident through initiatives spanning reduction, recycling, and ecosystem transformation. Its work includes eliminating nearly 2,900 MT of single-use cutlery and enabling the recycling of over 45,000 MT of plastic waste. Furthermore, the launch of India’s first large-scale Plastic-Free Future Programme, empowering 10,000 restaurants across 490+ cities, is accelerating a cleaner, greener future for the food delivery and packaging ecosystem.

Beyond the four main categories, special recognition awards were presented to Al Mehtab Industries, which was honoured as the Most Admired Company for Excellence in Super-Clean rPET Technology, for setting new benchmarks for food-grade, bottle-to-bottle circularity in India. Also, the collaboration between Al Mehtab Industries and Dodhia Group received the Most Promising Partnership award for delivering sustainable rPET packaging with verified CO₂ reduction across FMCG and beverage applications.

Rohit Dewan, portfolio director, Threefold, said, "The Pack.Nxt 2025 Awards demonstrated that when technology, trust, and partnerships come together, sustainable packaging moves decisively from ambition to action."
