India’s plastics industry is witnessing strong and sustained growth, with the market currently valued at USD 26.5-billion in 2025 and projected to reach USD 44.5-billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 11%. Plastic exports are expected to double from USD 10-billion in 2025 to USD 20-billion by 2027, reaffirming India’s expanding role in the global plastics value chain.

Ravish Kamath, president PlastIndia Foundation, said, “This growth is being driven by large-scale infrastructure programmes and accelerating consumer demand across packaging, automotive, construction, electronics and healthcare, Packaging alone accounts for nearly 42% of the plastics market, supported by rapid e-commerce expansion, underlining the plastics industry’s critical role in modern commerce.”

The six-day triennial event is expected to host over 2,000 exhibitors and attract more than 6 lakh footfall from India and across the world, showcasing the scale, strength and global competitiveness of the Indian plastics industry.

Kamath further added, “Plastindia 2026 will host a series of high-impact initiatives designed to strengthen policy dialogue, global trade and sustainability. These include a CEO conclave, bringing together industry leaders and policymakers, and a reverse buyer seller meet (RBSM) that will facilitate structured one-to-one meetings between Indian exhibitors and international buyers, accelerating exports and long-term business collaborations.”

The event will also host the Startup Search initiative, developed in collaboration with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP). Adding an experiential and educational dimension to the exhibition, Plastindia will feature a 20,000-sqft open air museum, a first-of-its-kind initiative in India. The museum will showcase the positive and responsible role of plastics through towering sculptures, interactive installations and themed zones.

Talking about the exhibition, Alok Tibrewala, chairman, National Executive Committee, Plastindia 2026, said, “The show is being organised as a 100% zero-waste exhibition, showcasing a modern, responsible and globally competitive Indian plastics industry. With over 2,000 exhibitors, the exhibition will highlight innovation, sustainability and digital transformation across the entire plastics value chain, clearly demonstrating that Indian manufacturers are ready to meet global demand.”

Tibrewala further noted, “India’s plastics industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by growth in infrastructure, housing and digital sectors. As initiatives such as Digital India gain momentum, plastics will play an increasingly important role in emerging sectors such as space, semiconductors and defence. Plastindia is being positioned as a global benchmark that reflects India’s manufacturing capabilities and future aspirations.”

Plastindia aims to firmly position itself as a global leader in sustainable exhibition management, contributing directly to national priorities under the Swachh Bharat Mission and reinforcing the industry’s commitment to building a cleaner, greener and globally competitive future.
