Polyplex invests USD 124-million to boost capacity

Polyplex USA begins production, becoming top BOPET producer nationally.

In 2023, the Al Ghurair Group acquired a 24.3% stake in Polyplex Corporation

Polyplex Corporation's subsidiary, Polyplex (USA), has started commercial production in the US after successful trial runs. 

As disclosed to the Securities and Exchange Board of India, the projects include a new BOPET thin film line with a 50,000 metric-tonne annual capacity, raising total US capacity to 81,000 metric tonnes. 

The PET resin plant’s capacity was also increased from 58,000 to 86,000-metric tonnes per year. The combined investment for both projects is USD 124-million. With these expansions, Polyplex becomes the largest BOPET producer in the US. Total production capacity will reach one-million metric tonnes annually, boosting the company’s presence in labels, flexible packaging, and industrial applications.
