Leading new sources state that the Chemical Laboratory at the National Test House (NTH) in Ghaziabad will test food packaging materials, coal, petroleum coke, bitumen, enamelled and insulated wires made of copper and aluminium, filtration media like sand and gravel, enamel paints, anti-skid products, and white and coloured chalk.
The laboratory is outfitted with instruments such as the Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS), Inductively Coupled Plasma - Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES), Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES), Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and Ion Chromatograph. These advanced facilities allow the laboratory to perform comprehensive and accurate analyses across a wide range of fields.
The laboratory will also test a variety of materials, such as building materials, cement, water, metals, alloys, paper, plastics, organic goods, and fertilisers. In addition, the laboratory will provide teaching, research, and testing services to universities, engineering colleges, and enterprises.
Some plans include facilities for testing fortified food products, such as fortified wheat flour, refined flour, almonds, edible oils, and salt supplemented with vitamins A and D, to benefit both the industry and the general public.
The laboratory also intends to test numerous spices and do micronutrient analysis in food products, expanding its contribution to public health, food safety, and quality assurance.
