Built during the Covid-19 era, the company commissioned its first BOPP line in eight months. As per the company brief, “Today, SGF operates three BOPP lines with a monthly capacity of 9,000 tonnes and envisions reaching 22,000 tonnes per month by 2027.”
As reported by WhatPackaging?, the first line commissioned and running at the SGF Yeida plant in December 2022 was a three-layer Bruckner BOPP line for producing polypropylene films.
Earlier started off as an FMCG company, Priyagold started expanding its business into flexible packaging in 2020. SGF started its BOPP line production in 2021, and added a BOPET line in 2024.
SGF pioneered India’s first hybrid BOPP–BOPE line, enabling the production of recyclable, mono-material laminates that are crucial for meeting environmental regulations such as EU directives and India’s EPR norms. Also, the company also uses renewable energy and crop-waste briquette heating systems, which not only reduce emissions but also support local farmers.
Located on a 40-acre site in Greater Noida’s YEIDA region, SGF’s facility is equipped with extrusion and coating technologies from Europe, a 72-lakh-litre water treatment system, and one of India’s largest rooftop solar power plants at 6 MW.
For the Priya Gold family, SGF represents more than just a new venture; it is a clear statement of intent, showcasing a rapid transformation into a diversified business house that blends its legacy with global ambitions. By setting new benchmarks in scale, speed, and sustainable practices, SGF is not only a leading packaging supplier but also a symbol of India’s new industrial drive on the global stage.
