KRPA Paper, based in the Czech Republic, is a specialty paper mill that solely produces grease-proof paper, with different kit values. The applications of its grades can be used for burgers, wraps and muffins among other products.
KRPA has one machine fully focused on producing grease-proof paper. Its KH range of papers has so far been classified as recyclable in the paper stream. The papers are machine-friendly and can be used on all sorts of printing, finishing and packaging machines.
The papers are available between 30–70-gsm with varied kit values (from four to nine) and are used for direct wrapping, bag making, lamination, further processing, fast food bags, pouches, deli wrap paper, tray and basket liners and pizza box liners among others.
“A new trend is also to use grease-resistant paper to wrap rotis instead of aluminium foil,” says Sunil Bhatia, sales director at the Java Paper Group. “The paper can also be used along with aluminium foil for it to act as a barrier and then to store goods like butter and margarine.”
The grease-resistant paper is free of optical brightening agents, and the grease-resistant treatment can be applied on one or both sides depending on the requirements of the customer.
The product was commercially launched in India in 2016 and comes with a wet-strength property which can withstand cold from freezers and heat from ovens as long as the customer specifies their requirements. The standard moisture content ranges between 5-7%.
The manufacturing facilities are certified as ISO 9001:2015 compliant and ISO 14001:2015 compliant. The papers are FSC and BRC certified.
