Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co KGaA has announced its participation in the twelfth Speciality Films and Flexible Packaging Global Business Summit and Exhibition, taking place on 3 to 4 September 2025, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

Bringing together nearly 2,300 delegates from more than 25 countries and over 900 organisations, the summit serves as a platform for industry leaders to explore technological advancements, regulatory developments, and strategic opportunities shaping the future of packaging. With presentations, interactive business sessions, and two days of high-impact networking, the event fosters meaningful dialogue across the global packaging value chain. “We are proud to participate in this year’s summit and look forward to presenting our latest innovations in sustainable packaging with a focus on functional coatings that enable circularity,” says Andrey Charkovskiy, business development lead, Circular Economy Coatings, at Siegwerk.

A highlight of the company’s participation is a presentation by Charkovskiy titledMaking Recyclable Mono-Material Packaging a Reality’. In his talk, Charkovskiy will outline how the company’s CIRKIT range of functional coatings is helping to bridge the technical performance gap between mono- and multi-material flexible packaging. The presentation will include case studies illustrating how Siegwerk is leveraging its deep ink expertise to develop next-generation water- and solvent-based coating solutions, and how film producers and printers can benefit from these innovations. This engagement comes at a pivotal moment in Siegwerk’s sustainability journey. In April 2024, the company established a dedicated global business unit focused on functional coatings, reinforcing its commitment to driving sustainable packaging innovation aligned with the principles of a circular economy. In line with this commitment, Siegwerk also recently acquired Allinova, a speciality chemicals company with deep expertise in high-performance coatings, bringing valuable capabilities and technical know-how to the company. “With Allinova joining the Siegwerk family, we are expanding our functional coatings capabilities and accelerating our ability to deliver on the promise of circularity,” emphasises Gilles Le Moigne, head of business unit, Circular Economy Coatings at Siegwerk.

Today, Siegwerk’s Circular Economy Coatings (CEC) business unit serves as a cross-divisional hub of excellence, integrating specialised coating technologies into the company’s broader sustainability strategy. This includes enabling mono-material packaging, enhancing recyclability, and reducing environmental impact – the core pillars of Siegwerk’s HorizonNOW programme.
