In a post on the social media platform X, Pranjay Garg, founder and CEO, Darkins, shared, “Anyone who’s had custom rigid boxes made knows they don’t come cheap. They add heft, protection and elegance, but they’re rarely reused. Most customers expect them complimentary, and the value ends with the chocolates polished off.”

So, for Diwali 2025, Darkins replaced traditional rigid boxes with handcrafted wooden trays, designed to live well beyond the festive season. Once the chocolates are gone, the trays can find a second life on coffee tables, dressers or work desks.

Each tray draws inspiration from Pichwai paintings and classic peacock motifs. “We wanted the gift to become something lasting and purposeful,” said Prajnay.

The result is packaging that feels less like a container and more like a collectible, merging sustainability with sentiment.
